Milkweed – if you plant it, the Monarch Butterflies will come! As the sole food source (aka the ‘host plant’) for growing Monarchs, planting Milkweed is a great way to help bolster the declining population of this favorite orange butterfly. Our collection of carefully chosen milkweed varieties is the perfect start to creating your own butterfly garden or Monarch Waystation. Best of all, these three native plants complement one another beautifully in the garden.
Our Milkweed Collection is roughly 9' x 5' if planted together and contains 9 plants:
Butterfly Weed (Asclepias tuberosa)- 3 plants
Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca)- 3 plants
'Soulmate' Swamp Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata)- 3 plants
*Not all plants will be in bloom at the same time, as depicted on the illustration. Plants are subject to change due to availability. If we make substitutions, we feature plants with similar attributes suitable to the collection design.
